Before the Graboids ever came along and started devouring people, the Sandworms roamed the Earth, in the Frank Herbert-created Dune franchise. Based on the Mongolian Death Worm of cryptid lore, the Sandworms are essentially massive worms with sharp rows of teeth, which call the desert home. Thanks to this fun recipe, they're making their way out of the desert, and onto the dessert menu!
Chris-Rachael Oseland runs the website Kitchen Overlord, where she fuses her passion for cooking with her love for all things geeky. She devoted last week's recipes to the world of Dune, wherein she created this edible Sandworm, in tribute to David Lynch's feature film adaptation of Herbert's novels.
All you'll need to make your very own Dune Sandworm cake are simple ingredients like yeast, eggs, butter and flour, and this bad boy comes infused with a tasty pumpkin pie spice filling, and topped off with a cinnamon sugar glaze. You'll find the full recipe over on Kitchen Overlord, where many other gruesome creations await!
