Back in mid-March, FEARnet gave you a detailed update on the status of Dark Legacy, the first-ever official music video from celebrated gothic horror instrumental unit Midnight Syndicate – which at that time had just completed shooting. Now we're delighted to announce that the wait is over, as the band has just launched the video on their official site... and you can watch it right here after the jump! Come on in and give it a spin, and be sure to let us know what you think!
Produced by makeup FX wizard-turned-filmmaker Robert Kurtzman and directed by award-winning filmmaker David Greathouse, Dark Legacy is the first official visual recording of Syndicate duo Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka, created to mark the band's 13th anniversary. In addition to several actors and dancers in Victorian period costume, the band is joined by Jeffrey "Nothing" Hatrix and Tom "Schmotz" of masked metal supergroup Mushroomhead – who also hail from the band's home town of Cleveland, OH.
Dark Legacy is a single from Midnight Syndicate's CD Cemetery Gates, which is itself inspired by the group's upcoming feature film The Dead Matter (Cemetery Gates is not the official soundtrack to the film – that release is coming soon), and combines performance footage of the band at the historic Phantasy theater (which has its own haunted history) with new clips from The Dead Matter, which is now slated for DVD release on July 30th.
Expect more interesting updates on The Dead Matter very soon, but in the meantime, get a taste of those macabre delights in Dark Legacy...
