Remember that weird Mortal Kombat: Rebirth viral trailer by director Kevin Tancharoen that led to the nine-part webseries Mortal Kombat: Legacy? Well, it looks like the gift that keeps on giving for Warner Bros, Tancharoen, and Mortal Kombat, as all three are coming together once again for a new Mortal Kombat movie. More details after the break.
According to the LA Times, Warner Bros.' New Line division will produce the film, which will be directed by Tancharoen, for a 2013 release. Given the success and lean budget of the Legacy webseries, whose nine parts were shot for less than 2 million, Tancharoen anticipates the new movie's budget to come in "well under $100 million."
So what would you like to see in the new MK movie? Any missed Kombatants that the webseries or previous films lacked? Sound off in the comments below.
