Hard-rockin', hard-drivin' undead with a taste for foam stuffing are the anti-heroes in Bringers of Death – the latest video from extreme thrashers Skeletonwitch. Commissioned by the demented folks at Adult Swim to be part of their new Metal Swim music compilation, the video finds the band in the padded clutches of an armed gang of plush animals – until a band of rampaging, van-driving zombies comes to their rescue. Hit the jump to viddy the clip and find out more about it!
While still touring with this summer's Ozzfest, the band was asked by Adult Swim and Scion to travel to Atlanta and appear in the video, part of the compilation now available for streaming or free download and containing sixteen new and rare metal tracks from “the heaviest bands in existence” – including the likes of Death Angel, Kylesa, Jesu and Zoroaster. Bringers of Death is itself a seldom-heard b-side from the band's 2007 release Beyond the Permafrost.
“We're happy to be in such great company and a part of a free compilation for any and everyone who likes heavy music,” said the band's guitarist Scott Hedrick in a recent interview. “It was also killer to be a part of the music video... the good people at Adult Swim kept a cooler full of Budweiser for us at the shoot... but what we remember of it was a blast!”
You can get some idea of how much fun they had by visiting this still gallery posted by the band's label, Prosthetic Records. The gallery includes dozens more bizarre images like the ones shown here, so be sure to check it out... but first, roll the clip and watch the fur fly!
