In the wake (no pun intended) of Spielberg's classic Jaws, there have been a few attempts to recreate the action of the movie in game form – usually with less-than-impressive results. Apart from the Xbox game Jaws Unleashed, those games also left out one angle of gameplay that a lot of fans would have loved to explore: playing from the shark's point-of-view.
The folks at Us vs. Th3m found a unique solution to that problem, in the form of JAWS: The Text Adventure – a retro computer game styled after the interactive text adventure programs popular in the early '80s.
The game features old-school graphics, music and sound effects (yes, the famous two-note Jaws theme greets you when you begin), and makes it your top priority to fill your hungry shark belly. Text commands enable you to move around and investigate locations, and obviously the preferred action is “EAT.”
