'Paranormal Activity' Producer’s New Haunt to Hit Theaters

GhostsOur friends over at Bloody Disgusting report that Lionsgate is planning a new supernatural thriller for January 10, 2014.

The project called Ghosts, originally titled Jessabelle, stars Sarah Snook, Mark Webber, and Joelle Carter. Saw VI and Saw 3D director Kevin Greutert is attached and Ben Garant, who you may recognize from Reno 911 is writing. So, a comedy? A very bloody and sadistic comedy?  I am definitely more interested now that I know Garant’s on board.

Paranormal and Insidious’ Jason Blum will produce.

“After losing her fiancé in a horrific accident, Jessabelle is forced to recuperate at her father’s ruined Louisiana mansion, where she discovers a strange gift from her long-dead mother, and a terrifying presence determined to destroy her.”

"From the Producers of Paranormal and Insidious" also means they spent no money. These guys are cranking out films and for the most part bad horror films made for a million dollars. Then they Spend 4 time that for advertising and you have a film made purely for the sake of making money...Not for the sake of doing cool horror. The good news is they've run the found footage stuff into the ground...Bring back good old horror films with a budget and cool effects!!
