Peter Murphy Joins NIN for Final Shows

After stunning the audience at New York's Webster Hall a few nights ago with a complete performance of The Downward Spiral, Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails arranged another cool surprise for the conclusion of their farewell “Wave Goodbye” tour: former Bauhaus frontman and gothic-rock icon Peter Murphy is joining Trent stage for the band’s last four East Coast shows this week. Find out more below the fold...

Bauhaus supported NIN's 'With Teeth' tour in 2006 (a truly awesome thing to behold, I must say), and Murphy has done some small-scale live sets with Reznor and company in the past, so it's sure to be a bittersweet homecoming for artists and fans alike.

According to Murphy's official blog, he and Trent decided to choose on each evening which songs to perform – beginning with the first of two nights at New York's Terminal Five, where Murphy joined in for NIN's “Reptile,” Bauhaus's “Kick in the Eye” and Joy Division's “Dead Souls” (which Nine Inch Nails covered famously on the soundtrack to The Crow). After Terminal 5, Murphy will continue on with the band to Aragon in Chicago.
