Pilot Updates: 'Cult,' '666 Park Ave.,' 'Midnight Sun' Casting

Midnight Sun

NBC's Twin Peaks meets Northern Exposure cult drama set in Alaska just cast Michael Raymond-James as the second-in-command on the Alaskan police force. Raymond-James will be best known to FEARnet readers as having played psychopath Rene in season one of True Blood. After that role, I see him more as a cult leader than a lawman.

Robert Knepper (Heroes, Carnivale, Species III) plays the lead in CW's show-within-a-show. The story revolves around crimes that mimic a popular TV show called "Cult." Knepper plays Roger Reeves, the star of "Cult," whose show-within-a-show role is that of charismatic cult leader Billy Grimm.

666 Park Ave.

Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters) has landed the lead in the ABC drama. He will play the new manager of a historic New York apartment building that is plagued with supernatural occurances. He joins Terry O'Quinn (Lost), who was previously announced as playing the building owner.

NBC's modern telling of Jekyll & Hyde just cast Michael Esper (A Beautiful Mind) as the Jekyll half of the lead character.
