Austrian black metallers Belphegor have announced that early in January they will be premiering a new video on Bloody-Disgusting, and if the teaser the site just posted is any indication, folks are going to be talking about this one for a long time. The track itself is titled “Impaled Upon the Tongue of Sathan,” from the band's upcoming album Blood Magick Necromance. According to the band, the clip features all kinds of depraved ritual acts, and if you watch the teaser, you'll have no problem believing that. Find out more about it on the other side...
Directed by Alexander König, the video for “Impaled...” wrapped last fall, and according to the band it involved “60 liters of fresh blood within two nights of shooting.” According to bassist Serpenth in the band's latest site update, the video “aims to strip down the viewer's psyche with an onslaught of sadistic sex, musick and magick.” He pointed out that some scenes in the video were inspired by the works of Austrian extreme performance artists Hermann Nitsch and Gunter Brus, and that the whole filming experience was extremely intense. “The blood cut deeper than any drug,” he explained. “The process of such an intense shoot served as a cathartic experience for all involved, making what went on behind the scenes just as important as the final outcome of the visuals.”
The age-gated teaser clip for “Impaled Upon the Tongue of Sathan” is a literal avalanche of blood, boobs, skulls and internal organs, and it's hard to comprehend that's only a 30-second excerpt of what's to come. If you're brave enough (and old enough, of course), head on over to Bloody-Disgusting.com to watch the teaser. Blood Magick Necromance is due out February 8th in North America.
