Prepare for Roger Corman's 'Sharktopus'

That's right, it's not a misprint and no, it's not some weird medical condition. According to a few of their latest tweets, SyFy Movies will be joining forces with the legendary Roger Corman on the film Sharktopus. And yes, it's ok to be excited. Hit the jump for more.

SyFy Movies tweets:

Spent half am hour discussing what a sharktopus should look like, how many mouths it should have and how it should kill. That's my job!

Just got off the phone with the legendary Roger Corman who's doing a new movie for us this year. Yes, it's the long-rumored SHARKTOPUS!

According to the Urban Dictionary a Sharktopus is an amalgamation of shark and octopus. Any creature that seems to be comprised solely of teeth and flailing limbs.

They're even kind enough to use the word in a sentence for us...

'My puppy seems to spend half her time on her back with her mouth open and legs kicking at the air. She's such a little sharktopus!'

Awesome again. I intend to use this word at least once when I get home this evening to describe our cats.

Note that the image above is from the Art of Romance Gallery (again, not a misprint) and is not associated with the SyFy production as it's clear they are still working on the design. We can only hope that what they come up with is half as awesome as the above artist's rendition.
