I've got some good news and some bad news for you this morning, and since I'm all about kicking things off on a positive note, let's talk about the good news first.
The good news is that Entertainment One has just announced that Wrong Turn 2 director/Holliston star Joe Lynch's latest film, Knights of Badassdom, is going to finally be available for consumption in 2014. The film was shot way back in 2010, and the trailer premiered to an excited audience at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con - but little has been heard about it since then. We'll get into that more in the bad news portion of this report, but again the good news is that Knights of Badassdom is going to be available digitally and On Demand on February 11th of next year. Beginning on January 21st, you can also request a theatrical screening in your area, through Tugg.
The bad news, which unfortunately puts a big time damper on the good news, is that the version of the film that's being released does not represent Lynch's true vision, and is by all accounts a modified version that was cut together by a producer - Lynch himself has apparently been frozen out of the post-production process for the last couple years. Always a bummer to see this sort of thing happen, but it's nevertheless exciting that the film is finally getting out there... in some form.
Check out the trailer for Knights of Badassdom below, which stars Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn and True Blood's Ryan Kwanten as live action role players who unwittingly conjure up a demon from Hell!
