Variety is reporting that ABC has ordered a remake of the 1980s miniseries-turned-episodic series V, about mankind's first contact with an alien race, which proves dangerous when they're revealed to be a race of man-eating lizards. 

Heading up the pilot is Scott Peters, who seems to be a good choice, considering his experience in co-creating the missing-persons-return-with-powers series, The 4400.  Original writer/producer Kenneth Johnson will not be involved.  The updated V will focus on a Homeland Security agent and her ne'er-do-well son who chooses the alien-lizard invaders over his own mother.  Sounds like someone deserves a spanking!
