Pride and Prejudice and Zombies feels like it will never make it to the screen.  First, the project loses director David O. Russell; then, its lead, Natalie Portman.  With directors lining up for the job, Lionsgate has made an official offer...

...To Mike White.  White is primarily a writer (School of Rock, Nacho Libre) and actor (The Stepford Wives, and a cameo in Zombieland).  P&P&Z would be White's second directorial effort (his first was the dramedy Year of the Dog).  While White isn't officially on as director, the formal offer has been made.
