Did you know that there was a scene cut from the ending of Stanley Kubrick's horror classic, The Shining? According to the stories, The Shining had an extra scene at the end of the film, one that featured Danny and Wendy recovering in the hospital. As the stories go, Kubrick was especially fond of Danny and Wendy, and wanted to assure audiences that the pair were okay after their ordeal. However, once the film started its theatrical run, Kubrick hated the scene. He insisted that the scene be excised from all prints and the footage destroyed. Though the time table is a little shaky, it seems like the version of the film with the hospital scene played for less than one week. Rumors circulate that a single copy of this hospital scene still exists, but besides the script pages, the only other physical proof of this scene comes by way of a trio of continuity photos (see below.) You can read the script pages over at The Overlook Hotel.
