For all you purists out there bemoaning how Resident Evil 5 doesn’t feel like the old games (wave at my girlfriend, folks!), Capcom put out a triple-whammy of upcoming release goodies for you to sink your old-school teeth into!
First up is Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, the followup to last year’s Wii-exclusive RE: The Umbrella Chronicles. Following its predecessor’s rail-shooter format, it follows Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield through the events of RE2.
Second and third are Wii remakes (I am not enough of a douche to say Wii-make) of the Gamecube exclusive Resident Evil Zero, as well as the much-lauded ‘cube Resident Evil remake. Both will feature the appropriate waggle controls, hopefully not arbitrarily shoehorned in like some Wii remakes I know…not mentioning any names, but it starts with a “D” and ends with an “ead Rising: Chop ‘Til You Drop.” Whoops! Did I say that out loud?
All three are due to hit stores this winter, with the Wii remakes being part of a new “Resident Evil Classics” line set at a budget price of $29.99.
