Ripley's Wants to Put Real Shrunken Heads Under Your Christmas Tree

What do you want for Christmas this year?  A Playstation 4, perhaps?  The Friday the 13th: Complete Collection Blu-ray set?  How about something a little bit more unique?  Something slightly more bizarre?  Something a whole lot more twisted?  I think I've got just the thing for you!

I'll never forget the first time I visited a Ripley's Believe it or Not! museum, where I was absolutely frightened and enchanted by the sight of shrunken heads up for grabs in the gift shop.  I had just learned about them in the museum, and the process that headhunters used to turn actual human heads into miniature charms, and I couldn't believe that they were actually being sold in the shop - and they were pretty cheap, too!

I admit I was a twisted little kid, and I wanted one more than anything else in the world at that moment in time.  Proving himself to be a good parent, my dad denied my requests and instead bought me something a bit more appropriate, and the desire to own a tiny human head forever left my mind shortly thereafter.

Of course, what I didn't realize was that the heads being sold in the gift shop were completely fake.  But now, all these years later, Ripley's is actually offering up real shrunken heads for sale, part of a holiday 'Giftacular' event taking place at their Times Square Odditorium location.  Starting at just under $20,000, those with fat wallets and a flair for the macabre can purchase their very own shrunken heads, along with all sorts of unique items including a two-headed calf skull, an Iron Maiden torture device and even a vampire killing kit.

Head over to the Ripley's website to see all of the bizarre offerings, which are up for grabs until December 24th.
