With the season two finale still a week away, executive producer Ryan Murphy is already giving hints to where the third season of American Horror Story will go.
For starters, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson - Kit and Lana from season two - will return in new roles. They join the already-announced Jessica Lange, whose season three character Murphy described as being a "really glamour-cat sort of lady." Season three will revolve around Lange, who Murphy described as being a "non-credited producer." He is right now meeting with other actors that Lange suggested; actors she has always wanted to work with. Murphy also hints that we will likely see at least one or two actors from season one, who did not appear in season two, return for season three.
As for the actual plot, you'd have better luck getting True Blood info out of the notoriously-secretive Alan Ball (you know, if he were still on the show.) But Murphy will say that season three will be "more historical in nature." "I'm also interested in getting into a horror romance. That's certainly something that's going to be in the water for season three. You're going to see a very different tone in season three, but that's the joy of the show. I think as a person right now I do feel lighter and wanting to embrace something a little bit more fun." So maybe that haunted roller disco I have been jonesing for?
