The Tribeca Film Festival is not really at the top of the horror watch list. The New York-centric fest opened yesterday, and has a surprising number of horror entries this year, including a number of premieres. Even if you aren't at the festival, many of these flicks will be streaming, online, for free! Check out our full round-up after the jump.
This Israeli flick mixes scared teens with a dark secret, a forest, and a deranged serial killer. You can stream Rabies for free right now.
Bloody yuletide to you! This Dutch holiday slasher sees Santa Claus as a bloodthirsty maniac who appears whenever Christmas falls on a full moon. Gives new meaning to the naughty list. Saint makes its festival debut tonight, but sadly will not stream online. Not to worry. IFC Midnight has already picked up the distribution rights. Looks like it will be a merry Christmas after all.
The debut feature from The Vicious Brothers sounds like a fun scare. Grave Encounters is a fictional ghost-hunting reality show whose producers lock themselves into a long-abandoned psychiactric hospital with a haunted history, "all in the name of good TV." Naturally, the rumors prove true, and the crew is in for a hell of a night. Grave Encounters premieres Friday night.
The Bleeding House
Set deep in the woods of Texas, an all-American family is haunted by a deeply-buried secret. A preacher comes around, promising to save their souls - but his methods are not what the family had in mind. The fest premiere is not until next week, but you can download in through various VOD platforms (Amazon, iTunes, some cable providers).
Also of note: Norwegian mockumentary Troll Hunter will have three screenings next week.
