We just stumbled across what looks like a slice of heavy metal heaven, if it turns out to be the real deal: the folks who brought you that funky shoebox on wheels known as the Scion have launched a promotional site heralding Scion Rock Fest, a live music festival whose colossal lineup is a veritable who's-who of extreme music... including the awesome Mastodon, High on Fire, Neurosis, Boris, Cryptopsy and what looks like dozens more bands.

Best of all, tickets for the event – scheduled to run from noon to midnight on February 28 at The Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia – appear to be free of charge (as long as you're at least 18), if the event's teaser page is to be believed.

However, the Scion people still haven't announced yet how to get a hold of said tickets, so it might be a good idea to join their mailing list pronto... not to mention they also suggest even more bands could be appearing on the roster.
