Sex Education: Some of The Best Nudity in Horror

Despite what its many detractors might say, horror films aren't all blood and gore. There's also lots of nudity! Viewers are often rewarded for their commitment to wetting their pants with a little visual treat; most of the time it's a horny teenager getting splattered, just so we can learn an important lesson about keeping our pants on in the woods -- and then sometimes it's just good old-fashioned eye candy. Are you looking for the best nudity to go with your chills? Read on for Part 1 of our list of some of the best nude scenes in horror cinema!

Carrie

Brian De Palma's adaptation of Stephen King's horror classic Carrie wastes no time getting straight to the nudity, although not all of it is salacious. In the opening sequence the viewer is led through a foggy shower full of naked high school ladies, all glorious and slow-motion like. Of course it's not long before we're reminded that this is a horror film when Carrie gets her first period in the shower -- and poor Carrie is one messed up naked gal.

Hostel

In Eli Roth's Hostel a couple of friends take off for a sleazy European adventure only to find themselves lured into a warehouse where rich people pay to torture and kill other people. But before we get to the gruesome stuff, our protagonists Paxton (Jay Hernandez) and Josh (Derek Richardson) have plenty of fun and sexy times with the aid of some lovely prostitutes. The best nudity comes during a trip to the sauna, where they meet the vixens who eventually lure them to their doom. Barbara Nedeljakova and Jana Kaderabkova make a compelling argument for trusting foreign women, even if it means you'll wind up in a torture chamber.

Hostel: Part II

Did you seriously think I wouldn't include male nudity on this list? Oh, you still think I'm talking only about women -- that's cute. Tit for tat, gentlemen. In Hostel: Part II, Roth flips the script and follows a trio of privileged college ladies on a trip through Europe. Sure, there's still some female nudity (the Bathory scene is both alluring and appalling), but the real goods are featured early on, when the ladies are taking an art class in Italy and painting a full-frontal nude male model. After all the naked women in Hostel, it's awfully charitable of Mr. Roth to acknowledge that fair is fair, and fair in this case is man-parts.

Doppelganger

In the 1993 thriller Doppelganger, Drew Barrymore plays Holly, a woman who moves across the country to escape an accusation of murder. Once in L.A., she believes she's being followed by her evil twin and then, of course, she slowly starts losing her grip on reality. While dating her new boyfriend, the line between Holly and her doppelganger begins to blur, and when she decides to take a shower, things get sexy. Let's just say Drew Barrymore attempts to show just how much she's grown up since E.T. Between this and 1992's Poison Ivy, Barrymore made sure we knew she wasn't a little girl anymore. But just as the sexy shower scene in Carrie is interrupted by a crimson flow, so is the scene in Doppelganger when the water turns to blood.

Cheerleader Camp

Long before Betsy Russell was Jigsaw's wife, she starred in ‘80s slashers like Cheerleader Camp. Russell plays Alison, a confused cheerleader with low self-esteem who goes to, you guessed it, cheerleader camp with her boyfriend Brent (Leif Garrett). While there's not nearly as much nudity as we'd all hoped for at a camp full of young, flexible ladies, and while Russell herself doesn't get naked, there's still pre-porn career Teri Weigel and Lucinda Dickey sunbathing nude on the rocks. And that's not bad.
