If you think the masks worn onstage by metal giants Slipknot are creepy enough already, then this new line of latex masks launched by the band's percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan is sure to give you nightmares.
Crahan, the band's official chronicler and resident artist, recently launched “Clown001,” the first in an ongoing series of masks (which he calls “the new way in clownology”) in collaboration with fellow artist Jason Kain. Crahan plans on releasing a new mask each year, with a unique story to accompany each creation.
Clown001, limited to a series of 50, is hand-painted and one of a kind, and carries a hefty price tag of $500. You can take a closer look at Crahan's online store, which also features his book The Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey.
