Stephen King Collaborates on Musical 'Ghost Brothers of Darkland County'

As if Stephen King didn't have enough on his plate, now he is doing musicals. Ghost Brothers of Darkland County is a collaboration between King, John Mellencamp, and T Bone Burnett to bring to life a story inspired by the tale of a deadly love triangle that took place on Mellencamp's property in Indiana.

Ghost Brothers of Darkland County is the story of two sets of brothers: ghosts Jack and Andy, dead from a murder/suicide; and their living nephews, Frank and Drake, who "appear to be headed toward the same downward spiral as their uncles."

With a libretto (essentially, the script) by Stephen King, the 17 tracks on the "blues n' roots" recording include performances by Kris Kristofferson, Roseanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Elvis Costello, Neko Case, and John Mellencamp, with dialogue clips fromactors Meg Ryan, Matthew McConaughey, and Samantha Mathis. The recording will be available on March 13th 2013 as a standard edition (complete soundtrack, dialog excerpts and digital libretto) or deluxe edition (complete soundtrack - with and without dialog, deluxe art work, handwritten lyrics, specially printed libretto and the "Making of Ghost Brothers" mini-documentary DVD. Ghost Brothers of Darkland County digital editions for tablets, smartphones and e-readers will also be available.
