Danny Boyle wants all of you gorehounds to know one thing: “It’s not called 28 Months Later!” The mistitled project he’s referring to of course is the third installment in his zombie film saga, which began in 2002 with 28 Days Later. Earlier this week Boyle confessed he might be in to direct the third flick after taking a pass on 28 Weeks – and now, day by day, it’s appearing that Boyle is very involved with number three. At a press conference for his latest (and, from what I’m hearing, a frontrunner for this year’s Best Picture Academy Award) film Slumdog Millionaire, MTV News caught up with the director, who made it clear he’s not yet conceived an official title for the flick: “I don’t think it will be called 28 Months Later, that’s all I can say. I mean, it’s absolutely not written yet, but there’s a prospect of an idea and the way these ideas start is you just suddenly get a little glimpse.” Hmmm… interesting. While I think 28 Months Later is kind of a lame title, it would be weird for the franchise to just suddenly step out of that vein and go with a completely different alias. Then again, it’s all up to Mr. Boyle, and I trust the man. Stay tuned to see how this one turns out.
