Yes, that's right – V has found its commander. The Warner Bros. produced, ABC-broadcast pilot has, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter, cast Morena Baccarin to play the leader of the Visitors, the alien race who has invaded Earth and rules over the human race. Baccarin's character is "remarkably knowledgeable about human culture and media manipulation." Sounds like she's an uber-baddie. Baccarin is probably best known for her role in Joss Whedon's Firefly and Serenity, where she played Inara Serra, the cultured courtesan.
V is a "re-imagining" of the 1980s miniseries of the same name. It takes place in the none-too-distant future, when aliens rule humanity. The updated series will center around a yet-to-be-announced female Homeland Security agent. Morris Chestnut has already been tapped to play the female lead's boyfriend.
