'Teen Wolf' Gets Fresh Meat for Season 2

MTV's Teen Wolf was enough of a hit in its first year to earn itself a full second season and a bigger talent budget. New cast members have just been announced, including one name familiar to many genre fans. Details after the break.

MTV just alerted us that  "four new recurring cast members will join the six returning series regulars" in Teen Wolf's second season, including Battlestar Galactica's Colonel Tigh, the terrific Canadian character actor Michael Hogan. Here's the official announcement...

"MTV announced today that production has begun in Atlanta on the second season of its critically acclaimed series Teen Wolf. The fictional Beacon Hills will also have four new faces, with Michael Hogan, Stephen Lunsford, Daniel Sharman and a yet-to-be-cast female character joining the show. All first season series regulars, including Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Dylan O'Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden and Colton Haynes, will be reprising their roles. The highly anticipated second season of this young, sexy reinvention of the classic werewolf tale will return Summer 2012 on MTV.

"Michael Hogan ("Battlestar Galactica") will play the role of Gerard, Allison's grandfather. A man whose age has made him more lethal, he'll begin to sway Allison closer and closer toward the family's unique business of hunting werewolves. Stephen Lunsford ("Private Practice") has been cast as Matt, a handsome teen with a knack for photography and whose initial crush on Allison will turn into real competition for Scott when the couple begins to grow apart under new tensions. Daniel Sharman ("Immortals") will play Isaac, a troubled young high schooler on the lacrosse team who will be given a unique gift by the new Alpha, Derek. His choices in how he uses that gift may prove far less noble than expected, however."
