It's Thursday once again, and you know what that means; time to check out some vintage behind the scenes shots from another beloved horror flick. Because it's not just Thursday... it's #ThrowbackThursday, fiends!
This week, we head back in time and bust down the doors of the closed set of Re-Animator, Stuart Gordon's adaptation of the H.P. Lovecraft story that was released on October 18th of 1985. A delightful combination of humor, horror and extreme gore, Re-Animator proved to be a hit not just with horror fans but also with critics, and it's one of the few horror films that the late Roger Ebert didn't rip apart and trash. Ebert was of course vocally against many gory films that he watched in his day, but he nevertheless found the joy in this twisted tale of re-animation, calling it "a gory horror movie that finds a rhythm and a style that make it work in a cockeyed, offbeat sort of way."
The behind the scenes tour begins now, so fasten your seat belts and put on your rain slickers, because it's about to get bloody up in here!
