TV Casting Round-Up: 'Hannibal,' 'Bates Motel,' 'Fringe' and More


Lot of small-screen casting news in the last week. Let's take a look.

Bates Motel - A&E's Psycho "prequel" just added Keegan Connor Tracy (Final Destination 2) as a recurring character. She will play Miss Watson, Norman's teacher and advisor.

Witches of East EndLifetime's Witches of Eastwick adaptation has added two rcurring guest stars. Madchen Amick (Twin Peaks; Sleepwalkers) will play Wendy, the sister of the show's matriarch Joanna (played by Julia Ormond.) She is a witch who likes to take the form of a cat. Glenne Headly (Mr. Holland's Opus) will play Penelope, the non-witch mother of Dash Gardner, fiance of Joanna's daughter Freya. (It's Lifetime; did you expect anything less than a soap opera?)

Hannibal - The NBC series has added Gina Torres (Firefly, Suits) as a recurring character. She will play the wife of FBI agent Jack Crawford, a role filled by Laurence Fishburne - her real-life husband. Ellen Greene (Little Shop of Horrors) will recur as Mrs. Komeda, a novelist and member of Boston's "social elite." She also happens to be friends with Dr. Lecter. Molly Shannon (SNL) will also appear in a top-secret guest spot with the option to recur.

Fringe - Grammy-winning singer Jill Scott will play Simone, "an incredibly intuitive woman and an oracle-like person, who assists Olivia." Her episode will air towards the end of the final season.
