UK-based production company Bloody Cuts – whose short films have garnered attention at festivals like Screamfest LA and Toronto After Dark – has launched a new online contest challenging filmmakers around the world to create their own three-minute films based on the concept “Who's There?”
The Bloody Cuts Horror Challenge offers awards and prize packages to the winning films (first prize is valued at $8,500), as well as individual awards for directing, writing and technical categories. The judging panel will include genre icons like director Joe Dante (The Howling, Gremlins), producer Gale Anne Hurd (Aliens, The Walking Dead), writer/director Marcus Dunstan (The Collector, The Collection), filmmaking duo the Soska Sisters (American Mary), FEARnet's own Drew Daywalt and many more notables from the world of horror cinema.
“We wish all entrants the very best of luck,” says Bloody Cuts producer Anthony Melton. “Or should I say break some legs?”
Entries are due by December 30th, 2013. Visit the official site for details... but before you go, watch their haunted house short Dare for creative inspiration!
