From comic books to movies, novels to video games, Hellraiser creator Clive Barker has done it all in the world of entertainment. But one of Barker's passions that we've never really been given all that much insight into over the years is his artwork, which is oftentimes the starting off point for the stories that have become novels and feature films. Thanks to a new book called Clive Barker: Imaginer, we finally get a glimpse at the nightmarish paintings of a true creative genius.
Fully funded over on Kickstarter, weeks before the deadline, Clive Barker: Imaginer is set to be a 160-page hardcover book that includes high resolution images of over 75 pieces of Barker's paintings, making it the very first comprehensive collection of his artwork. "The purest, most direct path from the raw creative mind of Clive Barker to our world is through his artworks," says the book's creator Thomas Negovan. "These artworks are the origin points of characters we recognize, and hold hints of stories yet to come."
Only 1,000 of the books will be available, and they're expected to go up for grabs this coming July, at the San Diego Comic Con. In the meantime, if you'd like to see some of Clive's artwork, head over to his official Facebook page!
