If you're afraid of both heights and water, then this story may not be so pleasant for you... because we're going to update you on the progress of the tallest and fastest waterslide ever built, which finally opens to the terror-seeking public this Summer.
Last November, when we first told you about the Verrückt (German for "insane," which should give you some idea of where they're headed with this thing), the ride was still in the early stages of development at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, and its full height was yet to be announced. Now it can be revealed that the slide tops out at an incredible seventeen stories tall, so when completed it will be higher than Niagara Falls.
Those brave enough to endure the humongous “Mega-Blaster” water coaster will be strapped into a four-person raft and dropped over six hundred feet from the first tower, then ascend a second rise and drop again.
You can learn more about the Verrückt and other rides at the park's official site, but first check out this heart-stopping clip of the ride under construction, then imagine yourself plunging from that main tower and into the waters below...
