Screenwriters Charley and Vlas Parlapanides will script a Death Note. No, manga fans, it’s not a joint suicide pact. Instead, according to Variety.com, Warner Bros. has enlisted the Parlapanides brothers to pen a live-action film adaptation of the popular 13-volume Japanese manga. In recent years, Warner Bros. Pictures in Japan made three Japanese-language films, but the report confirms that this film will be directly based on the manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata.

The film’s story will focus on the first three installments about a college student who inadvertently finds a misplaced death note which gives him the power to kill by writing anyone’s name on the page while picturing the person. L-I-N-D-S-A-Y L-O-H-A... Ah, if only…
