Wayne of Static-X Announces New Album

Wayne Static, frontman for smash electro-metal band Static-X – known for their musical contributions to movies like Queen of the Damned and Saw III, and games Duke Nukem and Need for Speed – has broken the news about their upcoming album Cult of Static, scheduled to street on March 17th. The release comes hot on the heels of their DVD/CD set Cannibal Killers Live, which itself chronicles the massive promotional tour for last year's hit album Cannibal, the band's top-selling release to date.

"This is the most epic record we've ever made,” Wayne shares on the band's official site. “This record is definitely darker than Cannibal and has more synths and loops as well. It has the most crushing guitar tone I've ever had, and we even got Dave Mustaine of Megadeth to play a guitar solo on a new version of the song “Lunatic” [which originally appeared on the soundtrack release to Punisher: War Zone].”

The band will also launch a promotional tour for the album in April.
