A new Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been long-rumored, and now the rumors can become fact. Today, Atlas Entertainment announced that it will reboot the franchise with Warner Bros., but not Joss Whedon. More after the break.
Actress/writer Whit Anderson (currently scripting a thriller titled Need) will be writing the script based on Whedon's characters. Anderson approached Atlas's Charles Roven with the concept for the new Buffy. "While this is not your high school Buffy, she'll be just as witty, tough, and sexy as we all remember her to be," an "insider" was quoted as saying.
What are your thoughts? Is Buffy anything without Joss? He made the character what we know and love today, but those last few seasons were weak, and Dollhouse was just dreadful. Could this be a blessing in disguise?
