The Misfits have been a revered name in horror rock since the late '70s, after which they tore up the punk scene with classics like the 1982 album Walk Among Us. The band's lineup has changed many times over the decades, and today bassist Jerry Only is the remaining original member. But according to Jerry's brother, current guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, the founding personnel – including frontman Glenn Danzig – just might be teaming up again for a historic reunion.
In a two-part interview this week with Alternative Press (conducted by Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack), Doyle said he had previously discussed the possibility of a reunion with Danzig and Only in 2002, but a news leak caused them to cancel the event. Now, he says he's the only one capable of getting the team together again.
“I’ve just decided this week that I am going to make an attempt,” Doyle said, “and I wanna do it. I’ll put what I’m doing right on the fucking side. I’ll go do it tomorrow... I just want to get out there and fucking break shit.”
In related news, Doyle's solo album Abominator is out now via his own label, ... more news on that and the possible return of the classic Misfits soon!
