It's been nine years since the release of Wolf Creek, a based on true events horror film that introduced us to backwoods killer Mick Taylor. This year, Mick returns in the long-awaited sequel, Wolf Creek 2, which is set for release in Australia next month. In conjunction with the film, we've just learned that two novels are also headed our way in February, which will give us an insight into Mick's past.
As we spotted over on Shock Till You Drop, Penguin Books Australia will release Wolf Creek: Origin and Wolf Creek: Desolation Game on February 1st, which are both co-written by the film's writer and director Greg McLean. While Origin tells the tale of a young Mick, shedding some light on the events that turned him into a cold-blooded killer, Desolation Game picks up a few years later, when Mick is sent off to Vietnam. While off at war, he's trained to become a skilled hunter and murderer, his transformation into a full-on horror villain being completed.
