Al Jourgensen’s legendary metal giant Ministry may have officially called it quits with their final release The Last Sucker… but there’s apparently still some crazy left in that material, because the crew at Uncle Al’s 13th Planet Records has dug back into those tracks to come up with a remix album entitled The Last Dubber. From the advance buzz, it sounds like more than just an attempt to double-dip, and may prove once again that you can’t keep an evil band down. Read on for details!
The Last Dubber is the fourth in an ongoing remix series from 13th Planet, and is reportedly a blend of trance and metal – not unlike their earlier effort Rio Grande Dub, which contained some of their best latter-day work (including the epic instrumental “Khyber Pass”). The twelve-track CD features remixes of “Let’s Go,” “Watch Yourself,” “Life is Good” and many more, with Revolting Cocks’ Clayton Worbeck manning the boards for most of the songs. John Bechdel (who has played with both Ministry and Killing Joke) and DJ Hardware also take on a track apiece.
The album is slated for release on September 15th, and will be followed a couple of weeks later by the label’s next remix project, RevCo’s Sex-O MiXXX-O.
