Tubefilter is reporting that Corey Feldman will soon be teaming up with two other horror vets -- Roger Corman and Joe Dante -- to create Netflix's first original web series, entitled Splatter. Feldman will play a character named, cleverily enough, Jonny Splatter. Find out more after the jump.

All three men have worked together before, in pairs. But Splatter represents the first time all three have teamed up together. It'll go live Halloween weekend. Check out a bloody thirty-second teaser at Netflix.com.

Update 10.15.09 - Check out our photo gallery and notes from the official press release below:

Netflix announced today it is collaborating with renowned horror filmmaker Roger Corman (“Little Shop of Horrors,” “Pit and the Pendulum”) on a series of Internet Webisodes scheduled to debut two days before Halloween. Anyone in America can instantly watch the Webisodes at www.netflix.com/splatter.  In a plot twist, Mr. Corman, making his Internet video debut at age 83, is opening up the creative direction of the series by asking the public to vote on the fate of its characters.

Entitled “Splatter,” the Webisodes were conceived and produced by Mr. Corman, co-produced by Julie Corman (“Box Car Bertha,” “The Westing Game”), directed by horror auteur Joe Dante (“Gremlins,” “The Howling”) and star Corey Feldman (“Lost Boys,” “Stand By Me”) in the title role of rocker Johnny Splatter.  The first episode of “Splatter” will launch on October 29, with the second installment scheduled for November 6 and the concluding episode slated for November 13 – yes, Friday the 13th.

While anyone in America can instantly watch "Splatter" online on a computer starting on October 29, Netflix members on an unlimited plan will be able to instantly watch "Splatter" on their TVs via a range of Netflix ready devices at the conclusion of the series. Those devices include Netflix ready Blu-ray disc players and new Internet TVs from LG Electronics; Blu-ray disc players from Samsung; the Roku digital video player; Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console; and TiVo digital video recorders.

“Splatter” is the haunting tale of rock-and-roll legend Johnny Splatter, a musical genius who accumulated as many hit records as he did enemies on his climb up the fame ladder.  His sudden death, ruled a suicide, brings a small circle of professional parasites and hangers-on to his Hollywood Hills mansion for the reading of his last will and testament.  But as his “frenmies” come to pick the bones clean, Johnny has returned for a deadly encore long after what they thought was his final curtain.
