In This Episode...
Walking home from work one day, Aidan sees a young boy being bullied by a couple of classmates. Aidan scares them away by sniffing out a bedwetting habit on one of them, and becomes young Bernie's hero. Bernie needs a father figure and Aidan misses his own boy. Though his mother was a bit uncertain about the unconventional friendship, she concedes. The guys play Go Fish, soccer, and watch movies together. After being forced to sit through Evan Almighty, Aidan insists that Bernie go pick out some Three Stooges DVDs from his room. Naturally, Bernie takes the vampire porn Rebecca gave him. When Bernie's mom finds out (luckily she catches it before the face-eating begins), she flips out and threatens to kill Aidan if he ever comes near her son. Meanwhile, Josh is furious that Aidan held on to the DVD.
Josh spots Nora on what looks like a date with a handsome doctor. Sally and Aidan pressure him into another date with her before the doctor seals the deal. He does, the night before his transformation, and panics when he growls while making out. The next night, Nora corners him on his way to his hidey-hole at the hospital. Unable to control himself, Josh throws Nora over a table and does her "him"-style. With his transformation imminent, Josh bails out. His normal room at the hospital is taken, so he runs home to transform there. Sally insists on watching him, and is horrified by what he goes through.
Also: Aidan takes Sally to the original section of the hospital, over one hundred years old, to introduce her to the lost souls that haunt the wing. It terrifies her, but helps motivate her to figure out how to cross over.
Dig It or Bury It?
This episode was a little heavy on the "woe is me" factor. Josh afraid to get to close to a woman because of his lycanthropic tendencies. Sally is annoyed by his bitching about one transformation a month when she can't even communicate with humans. I was thrilled that Marcus and Bishop were not in this episode. They didn't bring anything to the table in previous episodes, so why waste our time? The relationship between Aidan and Bernie was sweet, but I thought it was a little weird that a grown man would hang out with a little boy
Who knew that werewolves were prone to do it doggy-style, even while in human form?
Jolly Good Fun
Josh's awkwardness was especially delightful tonight. Nora approaches him at the hospital early in the episode and asks why he has been hiding. "Me no hide," he stammers before correcting his grammar. "You are like an artist, and awkwardness is your medium," comes Nora's response.
Sally starts dating another ghost; Josh and Nora's relationship turns rocky; and when Bernie is in a life-threatening accident, Aidan must decide if saving him is worth making him a vampire.
