Lost Girl Episode 107

In This Episode...
Bo joins Kenzi on her newest moneymaking scheme: she dresses like a gypsy and performs spiritual cleansings on (supposedly) possessed properties. Today's property was the site on a grizzly murder-suicide. The job is done successfully. Kenzi has unknowingly cleansed the house of its evil - by taking it with her. A giant spider crawls into her purse and goes home with the pair, where it bites Kenzi, then Bo. This spider is responsible for the most recent in a string of bizarre murder-suicides that have taken place in platonic households (sister vs. sister; roommate vs. roommate, etc).
This giant spider is actually an underworld fae who traps people in their homes, and poisons them into violent acts. Kenzi and Bo begin to feel paranoid, itchy, twitchy, and short-tempered. Things escalate until they are locked in the house, trapped by the spider. Dyson, with the help of Trick and Lauren, have figured out what is going, and he sends Hale to keep an eye on the girls while they try to find a cure. The girls tie up Hale, and Bo realizes she is hungry. Starving, in fact. Kenzi runs and hides in the basement, so Bo turns to Hale and feeds on him. She takes just enough to heal herself, sate her hunger, and not kill Hale. Bo then spends the rest of the episode trying to keep Hale and Kenzi from killing each other - or her - until a cure is found. The only way to kill the spider is to find the heart (which it implants in a host) and smush it. Dyson collects a local fae who sells underfae on the black market. Not only did he import the spider, he is under its spell. Lauren locates the spider's heart in the trader's chest, cuts it out, and smushes it. Kenzi and Hale are freed from the spider's grip.
Dig It or Bury It?
This episode felt slow. There wasn't enough content to fill a full hour, so more than half the episode was paranoid delusions and infighting. Boring paranoid delusions and infighting. It just dragged. Then they threw in a jealousy subplot with Dyson and Lauren, both fighting to win Bo's attention. Dyson wants Bo to be his alone, but doesn't have the balls to do anything about it. And Lauren is just cold and clinical - she is an annoying character, so I don't see what Bo sees in her.
The spider is also known as a Djieien. It is a nomadic underworld fae whose venom invades the nervous system, causing paranoia, rage, hallucinations, and eventually homicide.
Kenzi teases Bo about being torn between two lovers: Dyson and Lauren. "Poor Bo. So many choices, only one vadge."
The only murder we get to see is a fun one. An elderly woman kills her equally-elderly sister by stabbing her in the guy with a pair of knitting needles. She still has her scarf on the needles.
Bo gets a lead on her mom, but her lead is soon killed, sending Bo to both light and dark fae for help, and fracturing her relationship with Lauren.
