Isabel wants to send her human, Hugo, with Sookie to infiltrate the Church of the Light. They play engaged couple Rufus and Holly, who are looking for a new church. They left the church they met at because their pastor was a vampire sympathizer. Sookie reads off Steve that they have a vamp locked in the basement for use in a ritual.

Bill, having just thrown Hoyt out of the house, is embarrassed when he realizes that Jessica only wanted him for lovin', not feedin'. Sookie finds the whole thing amusing, and insists on bringing Jessica on their trip to Dallas.

Bill is driving his girls home from Jessica's parent's house, and he is beyond furious with Sookie. They fight, and she insists on walking home. She is scarcely out of view of the car when she is attacked by a shadowy half-human, half-bull demony thing. The creature scratches Sookie's back fiercely, and her screams bring Bill running.
