If Laura Mulvey ever decided to write about cars, she’d have a field day with John Carpenter’s 1983 Stephen King adaptation Christine. Forget cinema’s “male gaze,” [how’s that for a reference, fellow film nerds?] she’d need to term the phrase “car gaze” as the film completely, and unabashedly, fetishes every single inch of the beautiful red 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine. She even played Sloan in the short-lived TV adaptation of Ferris Bueller.

If you’re a geek or a horror fan, you probably already know the name Katee Sackhoff pretty well. She’s been in everything from Halloween: Resurrection and White Noise 2: The Light to “Nip/Tuck” and “24”, but the talented young actress really made her name as “Starbuck” on the critically acclaimed reboot of “Battlestar Galactica”.

Horror fans certainly know the name Jaume Balagueró. Known for his infectious and terrifying series of [REC] films (remade here in the states as Quarantine), the director stepped back from the world of hardcore effects, viral scares, and creepy found footage to frighten his fans with something a bit more quiet and realistic.
