‘SAW’ EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND FEARnet PRESIDENT PETER BLOCK SHARES PERSONAL ANECDOTES ABOUT THE FILM THAT LAUNCHED THE POPULAR FRANCHISE AT THE INTERNATIONAL HORROR & SCI-FI FILM FESTIVAL, FRIDAY, APRIL 5

(SANTA MONICA, CA – MARCH 25, 2013) – FEARnet President and General Manager Peter Block, one of the executive producers behind the successful “SAW” movie franchise, will introduce the screening of the original blockbuster film “SAW” and take part in an audience question-and-answer session at the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 MST. Block will talk candidly about the film’s development from script-to-screen, as well as speak about the rumors of its eighth sequel.

Block is one of the most influential executives in the film and TV entertainment industry, especially in the horror/thriller communities.  As FEARnet’s chief executive, he is in charge of overseeing all aspects of the company, including its cable TV channel, free VOD movie service, and industry-leading website, FEARnet.com.  As the head of his own film production company, A Bigger Boat, he produced the recent Academy Award® winner Jennifer Lawrence vehicle House At The End Of The Street, SAW VII, Frozen and the upcoming Gallows Hill, starring Twilight's Peter Facinelli, among others.

Block's prolific film career includes the launch and stewardship of the enormously popular Saw franchise—the most successful long-running horror franchise in history—which has grossed more than $600 million in worldwide box office, as well as producing or acquiring other acclaimed Lionsgate horror and suspense hits including The Descent, Daybreakers, Cabin Fever, Open Water, House of 1000 Corpses, Hard Candy, and The Devil's Rejects, along with serving as co-executive producer of the NBC television series, “Fear Itself.” He is a proud member of both the Motion Picture Academy and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

In addition to producing and editing numerous motion pictures, he is an indie-film connoisseur who relishes Sundance week and has been known to watch (and cover) 6-7 films a day.
