Exclusive Introduction by Writer/Director Ashley Thorpe

Ashley Thorpe, the man behind THE SCREAMING SKULL and THE HAIRY HANDS, brings us another hauntingly beautiful treat in his series of animations.

A short animation that evokes the 19th century ‘Penny Dreadfuls’ to tell a Hammer-style romp about a ghostly Highwayman wrecking revenge on those who conspired to put him and his sweetheart in their graves.

This is pretty much the short story "The Highway Man" given a slightly more macabre twist. I'm not a huge fan of the style, but never the less it picked a good story for it's base...

The beginning & ending credits make up most of the time on this short...which just kills me when ppl do that, didnt like the style & was just boring... If i didnt have a thing ab seeing things all the way thru this woulda been off in act 1... 1/2 star overall

I think Lauren must have seen a different film...I remember hearing about this on Rue Morgue radio. Lovely Hammer homage with an unusual original style which although is certainly on the homemade 'grassroots' side is nevertheless something different. Nice references to Dr Syn and use of the Thorndike poem too.
