J.T. Petty

JT is a writer, director, producer of movies, videogames, books, and graphic novels. His first feature film, SOFT FOR DIGGING, was shot for $6000 when he was 20 years old. It was selected for the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. He followed this with MIMIC: SENTINEL for Dimension / Miramax, the third in the genre franchise started by Guillermo Del Toro. His documentary on the world of underground horror, S&MAN (pronounced "sandman") was selected for the Toronto International and SXSW Film Festivals. JT wrote the screenplay for THE BURROWERS (originally titled "10,000 Little Indians") in 2002. He shot the original Horror/Western in the summer of 2007.

He has been writing for videogames since 1999, and was one of the creators of the game SPLINTER CELL, a best-selling franchise. His screenplay for the first SPLINTER CELL game earned him a Game Developer's Choice Award (interactive equivalent of an Oscar.) He went on to write the film adaptation of the game for Paramount and director Peter Berg. Most recently, JT wrote and directed the videogame adaptation of Chris Nolan's BATMAN BEGINS, also contributing to the adaptation of Jon Favreau's IRON MAN.

JT is the author of the popular series of chapter books for young readers, CLEMENCY POGUE, published by Simon & Schuster. The Jim Henson Company optioned FAIRY KILLER, along with its sequel, THE HOBGOBLIN PROXY, for film adaptation. The third book in the series, THE SCRIVENER BEES, was released in the summer of 2007. JT is also the author of the children's novel, THE SQUAMPKIN PATCH.
