I almost feel guilty. Pitching a news show about horror movies was an easy sell; the concept was sound and no one had ever done it our way before. Mind you, the FEARnet folks are REALLY picky about their programming, and the people I now know as friends at the FEARnet offices were once the stone-faced tribunal of judgment. But they took a chance on an independent project and let us run wild.
Fear News is now 6 weeks old, and I must say, putting together a short film every week with a horror theme can lead to a pretty interesting lifestyle.
Things I did not expect to be doing this year:
When Matt and I started this project, we kicked off the creation process with the obvious first conversation: What are your favorite horror films? (I'll tell you all mine in next week's blog, if you'll tell me yours) Once we'd covered that list and decided what genres we'd like to include in our show, we got down to the real nitty gritty: What really scares you?
