We frequently disagree with mainstream critics on their critiques of horror films. It seems as though the majority entertainment journalists are not able to accept horror films for what they are intended to do: scare the audience and entertain. Not every horror film is meant to be viewed as an allegory or make a profound statement on the current state of American society

One of the great things about growing up in the late 80’s/early 90’s was that the majority of the well known horror franchises were all at their absolute peak in popularity, which meant that sequels to some of the most famous movie maniacs were always in production and always inevitable.
Directors Jennifer and Sylvia Soska, Halloween star PJ Soles, The Crazies’ Lynn Lowry, Brea Grant from Halloween II, and Christine Elise of Child’s Play 2 fame will discuss women’s roles and their evolution in the genre as part of “Women in Horror and Science Fiction” at the second annual Aliens to Zombies Convention on Tuesday October 30.
