Exclusive: Ethan Hawke and Jason Blum Discuss 'The Purge'

In The Purge, all crime - including murder - is "legal" and not prosecutable for a 12-hour span, once a year. Poverty, unemployment, and violent crime are at record lows the rest of the year. Some believe that the Purge is a way for people to unload their frustrations and violent tendencies while spending the rest of the year as functional, productive members of society. Others believe that the Purge is a way for the rich to lock themselves behind massive security systems while the poor and disenfranchised slaughter one another in the streets.

We sat down with The Purge stars Ethan Hawke and Edwin Hodge, and producer Jason Blum to talk about what they would do in a Purge-like world.

The Purge hits theaters June 7th.
