Streets of Fear - Dark Hollow Road (Roan Mountain, TN)
Creepy legends abound about this notorious street with a cemetery on it. According to the most famous legend, a woman was prematurely buried in an unmarked grave in the cemetery, and her ghost now roams the road.
This is NOT the story AT ALL. What the heck?? Her name was not Delinda. It was Victoria Carter. She was not buried alive, she was tarred and feathered by the mob of women and some of the men, and stuffed in a hollowed stump. There was a police investigation involving her disappearance and feeling that they would get caught, the women moved her body. They killed her over jealousy about her good looks, possible venereal diseases being passed around, and infidelity suspicions. The reason why it was kept quiet so long was because there were so many involved with the murder and people feared retaliation. My grandfather and Great Uncle remembered seeing her. They said she was extremely pretty, silvery blonde long haired and blue eyed.
