Twilight fans have done it again. Always a crafty bunch, they've been hard at work making Photoshopped effigies to Edward and Bella, the Volturi, Jason and the wolf pack. I've picked my top five fang-filled New Moon favorites that I believe reflect the excitement of the book, as well as the clips that premiered at Comic-Con. I'll tell you what I think works and what I think needs some work. And I'll give them all a grade, based on the phases of the moon: Quarter, Half, Full and (the best) New Moon.
Jane the Tiny Terror
What I like: I know she's a super baddie, but I can't help thinking Jane is cool. She's a tiny, quiet, deadly little lady. A pretty killer. This poster does her evil tendencies justice and gives us a good idea of just how creepy the doll-like Dakota can look.
What I don't like: The smile is too serene. More evil glint behind the eyes, please!
This poster was made by a Deviant Art user called Jangsara, but it's been taken down along with most of her other New Moon-related art. She's got some cool zombie stuff up. Check it out.
Grade: Full Moon
Bella In a Fog
What I like: It's a very literal interpretation of the way Bella lives her life during the first part of New Moon, after Edward leaves.
What I don't like: Bella's wearing a dress. Does this strike anyone else as strange? Bella never wears a dress.

Grade: Full Moon
Bizarre Love Triangle
What I like: There are a lot of these Bella, Edward, Jacob trinity posters out there, but this one might be the most dramatic. Check out the chiaroscuro and the images in the ray of light. Nice composition too.
What I don't like: Why is Bella wet? Has she been outside? Or is this from when she jumps off the cliff? Or maybe she's soaked in her own tears?
Another Deviant Art fiend, check out Cinemink's other work here.
Grade: Half Moon
Jacob's Technicolor Dream Chest
What I like: Jacob has short hair. I'm having a tough time taking him seriously with that ponytail. If there's any doubt that Jacob turned into a beast during his transformation, this image clears it up.
What I don't like: I'm a Team Edward gal, so I don't really understand the allure of Jacob. Am I the only one who thinks the artist just put Jacob's head on the body of an Abercrombie & Fitch model?
Check out Deviant Art for Grodansnagel's other work.
Grade: Quarter Moon
Cranky Cullen
What I like: Well, it's Edward. And it's hard not to like Edward. I like that it's in Italy and not in the woods, or in a hazy background. It reflects the turmoil in Edward's mind as he readies himself to meet his sunny maker.
What I don't like: He looks sort of pouty doesn't he? But it's not a good come-hither pout, it's an "I hate this stupid walled city and I hate these dumb Italian vampires and I hate being a teenage vampire" pout. It needs a little work.
I found this on the Scarlet Blog, but I'm not sure where it originated.
Grade: Half Moon
None of these fan-made posters earned my New Moon seal of approval. Think I'm wrong? Think you've got a poster to beat all of these? Link me!
