November 20 is only a month away, which means you've ONLY got a month until The Twilight Saga: New Moon hits theaters! We gathered the essential to-dos into one handy checklist to help you get ready for the big day.
1.) Order midnight tickets for Nov. 19 on Fandango. Like, now.
Midnight show times are already popping up; check and see if they're available in your area. (Buy them early and get a free iTunes download of Anya Marina's New Moon soundtrack song, "Satellite Heart.") Then, proceed to Task #2.
2.) Plan a New Moon viewing party.
Once you've got the early bird show times on your calendar, send out invitations to your best Twilight buds. You're going to have to synchronize watches for the big day, but it'll be worth the effort. (Etsy has tons of great handcrafted Twilight and New Moon-themed gifts, including these handmade New Moon party invitations.)
In the hours counting down to midnight, break out the New Moon Board Game and see who knows their New Moon stuff the best – even before you see the film.
And if you're into that sort of thing, you can eat hors d'oeuvres off of Edward Cullen's face.
3.) Get to know the New Moon soundtrack.
Twilight opened to the sounds of The Black Ghosts. Which of the bands on the New Moon soundtrack will you hear first in the film? Get familiar with the songs of New Moon and see if you can predict which scenes will feature Lykke Li or Death Cab for Cutie or The Killers. For example, I think Lykke Li's track will be perfect after the happenings in Volterra. But I loved Carter Burwell's "Bella's Lullaby" so much that Alexandre Desplat's "Meadow" theme will really have to work well on screen to win me over.
4.) Re-read New Moon!
Chances are you breezed through all four of Stephenie Meyer's novels in a very short time, turning pages frantically to get to the end of Bella and Edward's saga. Start re-reading "New Moon" now – you'll want a refresher on every little tidbit of action, angst, and why newcomers like Aro and Jane are important.
6.) Stock up on New Moon goodies for the big day.
If you're going to see New Moon on opening day – and especially if you're going at midnight – make it a night to remember by celebrating the festivities. After all, Christmas comes every year, but New Moon only premieres in theaters once. So grab a New Moon t-shirt, your Edward Cullen or Jacob Black action figure (or both), and a bag of New Moon chocolates to tide you over.
Optional extras for your To-Do list: Camp out overnight with a sleeping bag and a couple of friends to be first in line for New Moon; clear your schedule the weekend of November 20 for repeat viewings.
